Animal Husbandry Diploma Program (AHDP)

The AHDP is a diploma-level program aimed at providing students with the knowledge and skills required for livestock management, animal healthcare, and sustainable animal husbandry practices. It prepares students for various roles in the veterinary and agricultural sectors.

Students who have completed Senior Secondary (10+2) or an equivalent examination with subjects in:

  • Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB)
  • Agriculture stream subjects, with Biology as one of the optional subjects.
    Candidates must also meet the age and domicile requirements as per the program’s guidelines.

The minimum age for admission is 17 years as of 31st December of the admission year.

The maximum age limit is 28 years as of 31st December of the admission year. However, there are relaxations:

  • 5 years for boys of SC, ST, OBC & SBC categories and girls of the general category.
  • 10 years for girls of SC, ST, OBC & SBC categories.

Admissions are based on merit, drawn from the marks obtained in the Senior Secondary (10+2) examination. A merit list is prepared, and seats are allocated according to merit-cum-reservation guidelines.

Each institute offers 50 seats for the AHDP. The distribution of these seats is as follows:

  • 100% State Seats in constituent colleges and affiliated government institutes.
  • 85% State Seats in affiliated private institutes (the remaining 15% are management quota seats).

Yes, the majority of seats are reserved for candidates who are domiciled in Rajasthan. This includes all seats in constituent colleges and affiliated government institutes, as well as 85% of seats in affiliated private institutions.

Graduates of the AHDP can pursue careers as:

  • Livestock Inspectors
  • Veterinary Assistants
  • Dairy Farm Managers
  • Entrepreneurs in livestock and animal husbandry sectors
